Cascade Care is a leading provider of 24/7 healthcare for adult males and females (18-65) with a lead mental health diagnosis. We work with persons with learning disabilities; forensic backgrounds; histories of substance or alcohol abuse or who fall in the category of dual diagnosis. Service-users include those who may be detained under the Mental Health Act including Section 37/41 and Community Treatment Orders. We also provide floating support and supported living. Cascade currently operates two adult male units in Essex, in Romford and Harold Wood respectively, providing places for a total of 14 service users. We are actively exploring opportunities for extending our service provision in Essex to meet the high level of demand for the specialist care we deliver.
All our service users set out on their recovery pathway from Day 1 of their residency, supported by highly experienced staff. The focus throughout is on effective risk management, and on developing each service user’s life and employability skills in readiness for move on.
Therapeutic gardening plays an important part in each service user's recovery programme. Garden-based leisure activities are also used to promote physical fitness.
The kitchen is the hub of each Home. On regular 'cook days' service users plan the meals, take responsibility for the shopping, and help prepare well balanced meals.
All service users are trained in food preparation, hygiene and the safe use of appliances. All service users are required to attain reasonable levels of self sufficiency in the kitchen before move-on.
All Cascade's Homes are furbished to a very high standard to create a warm, familial environment that helps foster rehabilitation and recovery.
The disciplines of gardening, of planting for the future, and the need for tidy maintenance, contribute to service users' healing and recovery.
